Hanrahan and Hyde Fly the Coldwell Flag in Manchester
Liam Hanrahan and Sam Hyde both remained undefeated, as they picked up wins on the undercard of Scott Quigg’s world title defence at the Phones 4 U Arena in Manchester. Hanrahan had to remain patient as he won all four rounds over Antonio Horvatic, whilst Hyde certainly raised some eyebrows as he crushed Tommy Gifford inside a minute of their fight scheduled for four.
For both Coldwell Boxing stars, it was their first taste of fighting on a big Sky Sports bill, with Hanrahan enjoying the great experience of a televised appearance live on Sky.
Sam Hyde moved to 2-0 and picked up his first stoppage win, blitzing Tommy Gifford in just 56 seconds. In what was an awesome performance, Sam lived up to his nickname, giving Gifford “Nowhere To Hyde” as the Weston-Super-Mare fighter was looking for a way out following the first knockdown.
Hyde landed a big overhand right, sending Gifford, who was coming off a draw with Steve Collins Jnr, heavily to the floor. Referee, Steve Gray, allowed him to continue, but he was down once again and finished, following a barrage from the young star who is destined for big things and more big nights on arena shows.
Liam and Sam will be back in action on the 21st June at the Bowlers Arena in Manchester on Coldwell’s Boxing’s “Feel the Noise” show. They both have huge followings and it is sure to be a great atmosphere, as they both aim to remain undefeated.
